My grandad

My grandad will be 70 in March this year. I got news today that he has the start of dementia and in just two weeks has gotten quite bad. I’m worried that by the time his birthday comes around that he will not be able to recognise any of his family.

I just wish that the family could have put all their differences aside for the sake of my grandad and celebrated his birthday earlier in January when it was originally planned because we weren’t sure how he would be by March. But because of the hot-headed, stubbornness of some of my extended family, those plans did not eventuate.

It will be a very sad day, the day that my grandad does not know who we are anymore.
