Where is this world going?!

Filed Under entertainment, news/media | Leave a Comment

It has got to be a concern for every single person on this earth about the ever-increasing gap between certain countries. Knowing that it might just get worse in the future and what kind of world are we creating for our children, grandchildren and future generations just breaks my heart. It was interesting to find Reconciliation: Islam, Democracy and the Westy by Benazir Bhutto. Benazir Bhutto finished writing this book just days before her assassination. I think it would be a very interesting read.

Going to be tweaking

Hi Readers!

I thought I’d just give you all a heads-up that in the next week or so I will be tweaking this site. It will just be a matter of moving some stuff around in the side bars and organising some pages.

There shouldn’t be too much interference…..unless of course my plugins go haywire! LOL

Going to the movies alone

Have you ever gone to the movies by yourself?

I’ve always gone with friends or the kids or with DH, but I have never been by myself. I’m thinking that this is something I would like to do - not just because I wouldn’t have to share my popcorn and drink…lol…but there are often times that there’s a movie I want to see and no-one else wants to see it.

So instead of waiting until the movie comes out on DVD, if there’s one that I want to see and no-one else wants to, I think I’m going to go anyway.

Making financial decisions yourself

Filed Under computer/internet, money | Leave a Comment

A friend of mine recently separated from her husband and while she believes that this is the best thing for her, her husband was the one in control of all the finances and she “didn’t need to worry about it”.

So now she’s in the position of having to become financially independent and she said her first step was to get herself a credit card. Unfortunately she wasn’t sure which credit card would be right for her but after doing some research online, she came across ezpreapproval.com.

Listed on the website are credit card comparisions from many banks, showing the difference in fees and interest rates. Having this information in one place allows you to make the right choice in the credit card that is right for you, ensuring that you are not going to get stuck with a card that charges high interest and fees.

Now she just needs to make the decision as to whether she wants Visa Credit Cards or a Mastercard. Then she can go ahead and apply right from that website.

A comfort box

Filed Under special occasions | 1 Comment

I’ve been thinking about putting together a “comfort box”. You know, a little box of my favourite stuff for the days that I need a little comfort. I think I’d include some of my favourite flavoured tea bags, maybe a book, a scented candle, and I could probably even hide a couple no-fat, no sugar sweets in there as well as other things that make me happy.

Do you have a “comfort box”? What do you keep in yours? Or if you don’t, what WOULD you keep in yours if you did?

I can LOOK at chocolate!

Filed Under shopping, special occasions | 1 Comment

I’m not eating chocolate but nobody said I couldn’t LOOK at it! And Fannie May Candies has some delicious, gourmet chocolates to satisfy my virtual craving! I’ve just spent the last half hour looking at the gorgeous assortments of chocolates available. I could quite easily do my gift-shopping right here because there’s something for everyone!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, you might want to hint that the famous Fannie May Candies can be bought right from their online store. The prices are quite reasonable…there’s even gifts under $20 so your babes don’t need to spend every last penny out of their piggy bank to get you a gift!

I won’t be asking for any Mother’s Day chocolate this year but if I did, I would definitely be asking for the Mint Meltaways or the Mint Meltaway Cheesecake…they look absolutely divine!!

Where am I going?

Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

I really don’t know where I am going with this blog. I never realised how hard it is to separate yourself from being a wife and mother all the time, and try to make time for yourself. I’m realising just how much my life does revolve around DH and the babes!

I also think that with four blogs to keep updated, this one is the one that is suffering most so I’m not sure whether I should discontinue it.

Ah, decisions, decisions!

Keeping records

Filed Under money | 2 Comments

Now that we have a video camera, I’ve been meaning to go around the house and document all of our belongings for home insurance purposes. I printed out forms that I found from some random website and have filled out all the serial numbers and descriptions but I think a visual record would be beneficial as well.

How do you all have your belongings documented?

Apologising for your feelings

Have you ever been made to feel as though you are wrong for feeling the way you feel? Have you been made to apologise for expressing how you feel?

I currently feel as though I have been bullied into apologising for how I feel about a certain situation when the other parties had no intention to apologise for making me feel this way.

I am so frustrated right now and I can see that a drastic change needs to be made. There will be some people who will be happy with this drastic change and there will be one person that will be devastated but it is going to have to be done.

I’m sorry if this sounds so cryptic to you but as I know have family reading my blogs and make more out of my posts than what is actually written, I am currently censoring my writing which is a shame because my blogs WERE my outlet for my feelings and thoughts but now I know that some people are using my blogs as ammo.

In time I will stop censoring my posts and write exactly what and how I feel and if it offends certain people then they have the option to close the browser and not read my blogs. But of course, that will not happen because then they won’t have anything to complain about.
