Who’s fault is it?
Filed Under fashion/beauty, health/wellbeing, on my soapbox | 1 Comment
I am a big girl, that’s no secret but it annoys me that people believe that size 14 can be classed as a ‘plus size’.
I was in the op shop (thrift shop for my non-Aussie pals) with DH and I was browsing through the plus size racks of clothes and I was amazed that the people who run that store think that size 14 clothing should be hung in the plus size section!
OMG! If they think size 14 is fat, then I don’t want to know what they think I am!
Is it their fault though? Maybe the blame can be put on the media because when the issue of size is discussed, the media seems to think the smaller the better.
Seriously, it’s no wonder that women have low esteems and go home and start popping Leptovox or some other diet pills in the hope to be seen as "normal".

Not in front of the kids

I’m not the type of person to pour myself an alcoholic drink if I’m by myself. I prefer to have a glass of wine or spirits with DH or with some friends. I was thinking about my drinking habits earlier today because there was a pamphlet in the mail for one of those wine of the month clubs. It would make a great gift for people who enjoy drinking wine but we’re not wine drinkers.
My preferred alcoholic beverage is Scotch and Coke although I don’t mind vodka and orange or having a few cocktails.
A friend was telling me the other day about how she and her DH got drunk the other night. I don’t know how she does it. She has three kids, all under the age of 7 and she regularly wakes up with hangovers (she tells me) and still does everything she needs to do for the kids!
I can’t remember the last time I drank so much that I woke up with a hangover. But I can tell you it would have been a night that the kids had stayed at their aunts or their grandparents’ house because I refuse to drink too much when the kids are at home. I always think about what would happen if we had to do a mad dash to the emergency department or something and both DH and I had been drinking and neither of us could drive! Yeah, I always look on the positive side of things..lol
Winds a-howling!

Oh my! I hate it when it’s windy!
The wind has been howling lately, especially at night. Couple nights ago, I was so worried that all of our outdoor furniture was going to get blown away!
There’s a large gum tree in the front yard of the house next door and when it gets really windy, the tree bends so much that I think one day it’s just going to snap and fall. It’s not that far from our bedroom window so I’m worried that if it does fall, it’s going to come this way!
My Dream Home
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
I often whine complain talk about the small house that we live in and I often look at photos of beautiful, BIG homes online.
Last night I found my dream house. It’s called the Columbine….
I found it on a Winter Park real estate website. The kitchen is huge! And each bedroom has it’s own bathroom! I’m seriously having to wipe the drool off my chin…LOL
Might need to win the lotto first, though!
Gossip Guru?
I don’t think of myself as one that follows celebrities and all of their "goings-on" but I guess being online for many hours a day probably means that I’m gaining this information sub-consciously or something.
I just did Nine MSN’s celebrity quiz and managed to get 7/10, scoring me as a gossip guru…lol
So if you’re wanting to find out who’s married to who, or which celebrity has started taking diet pills, or which celebrity has lost the plot, you’re looking in the right place….NOT! LOL
Girls Do Lunch
It’s not often that I get a chance to meet up with my girlfriends for lunch, and it’s even harder if we try to do it without the kids.
So how do women do it? You know, the ones that manage to meet up almost everyday to "do lunch" or go shopping?
It’s harder still if we’re all trying to be good and lose weight. I think we’re all a bad influence on each other and end up buying naughty food
It’s school holidays now so there’s no chance of trying to organise a lunch date but when the kids go back to school, I’ll try to get the girls together, and we’ll all take our Phentermine (OK, so I don’t take it but I know some of the girls do, with one bragging that she got her Phentermine without a prescription, and we’ll hit our favourite lunch spot and catch up on all the gossip!
How often do you meet up with your girlfirends for lunch or a coffee?
Cuppy cakes!

You know how I love cupcakes?
My step-mum found the cupcake-covered notebook for me and while I was out shopping yesterday, I found a matching "my favourite recipes" notebook and cupcake post-it notes.
Thank goodness for search engines
How many times a week do you find yourself "googling" or using some other search engine?
I probably search at least once a day. If it’s not for something I’m searching for in particular, it could be a question that one of the kids has asked or if I hear a word that I’m not sure the meaning of, or when my son starts talking about high tech gadgets like the Slingbox that one of his mate’s dad just bought.
I’m sure that I’ve asked the most lamest questions in a search engine. You know how you look at a word and it just looks wrong, even though it’s right? Well, that’s what I did this morning. I typed the word "etiquette" and it looked wrong so I googled "how to spell etiquette"…lol
I’m lucky that search engines are cheeky and come back with an answer like, "Are you serious?!" LOL
Fixing Up Outside

I can sit for ages looking at home decorating web sites. I love looking at before and after photos, especially when I get some good ideas for our house.
Last night, I came across some photos of a front patio. It’s funny how just changing the layout of the garden decor and furniture can give the area a whole new feel.
We don’t have a patio or porch so to speak but I would love to put an outdoor setting out there - just a little table and a couple of chairs, or a garden swing. Just so we have somewhere to sit outside, enjoying the sunshine.
