A Home Warranty
Filed Under money | Leave a Comment
Two months ago, a friend I used to go to school with bought her first home with her new husband. Unfortunately for them, during the first week of moving in, the hot water system quit working and the range hood in the kitchen blew up. These were unexpected expenses and certainly ones that you don’t usually have to think about when you first move into a new home.
While I was browsing online, I came across American Home Shield that offers a home warranty to new home owners. I don’t know if anything like this is available in Australia but I think this is a great idea. Knowing that you are covered for anything that may go wrong with the major systems and appliances in the first year of owning a new home gives you the peace of mind that you will not have to fork out for unexpected repairs.
The inspectors check over 400 items throughout the home in order to help home seller and buyers avoid last minute closing problems.
It would have saved a lot of stress for my friends if they had something like this in place.
Laser Hair Therapy

When it comes to hair loss women and men may suffer equally but fortunately there are options such as Aventi Laser Hair Therapy that can help with restoring hair or just giving your hair a little revitalisation.
It freaks me out when I am in the shower and shampooing my hair, only to find strands of hair come away in my hand. I notice it more so when I am really stressed out. If I found that my hair was thinning prematurely, I would consider getting laser hair therapy. My DH is bald by choice and he jokes that we’d both save money on shampoo and conditioner if I was bald as well. But I’d rather spend the money on getting laser hair therapy although DH does assure me that I would still look beautiful if I was bald!
Would you consider laser hair therapy?
Keeping up the mortgage repayments
Filed Under money | Leave a Comment
So, you know how I posted about having a little nest egg in case of emergencies, well I was talking to a friend today and she told me that her DH lost his job today. After working for the same company for almost 6 years, he was jobless. Fortunately, my friend had saved a nice little nest egg and when her husband mentioned about how worried he was with the rising interest rates on mortgages and how they were going to pay the bills, she was able to tell him that everything was going to be alright and that the money she had saved would cover their mortgage repayments at least for a few months while he found a new job.
So, having a secret stash on the side does prove to be a good thing. My friends won’t lose their home because they are still able to cover the mortgage. Life is good!
For a rainy day?
I don’t know anything about stock broking or buying shares or anything like that so when I got talking with a friend who has a nice little nest egg saved in case her marriage ended and she needed a lump sum to find somewhere to live in a hurry, it got me thinking that she is very smart and that all women should have a ’secret stash’ for just in case.
Do you know anything about stock broking, know any insurance brokers, or commodity brokers? What are your thoughts about having a ’secret stash’ that your husband or significant other wouldn’t know about?
I’m addicted

Since I don’t have any other post ready for today, I thought I’d share a secret with you. I have an addiction. It costs me a lot of money and I have tried to stop a number of times but I just relapse each and every time. My DH thinks I should go into rehab but I still think I’m in control and I don’t need help just yet. I mean, really, is it so bad to be a pen fanatic?! I buy pens all the time. whether it’s cute scented pens, pens for charity or logo pens. I’m not fussed what type of pen it is. I love them! Is that weird?
Leaving with a bad credit rating
Filed Under money | Leave a Comment

I was watching Oprah today. The show was about money problems and gettingir out of financial hardship. I listened to a few women saying that before they divorced, they and their partner were in debt and because of credit cards bad credit ratings were given to them. Then when the women left the relationships they unfortunately had to take some of the debt with them. Some of these women were facing bankruptcy because they couldn’t afford to repay their debts.
Fortunately there are institutions that offer bad credit credit cards that enable people to regain their good credit ratings. Just because someone gets in financial trouble doesn’t mean they are a bad person. Everyone deserves a second chance and badcreditoffers.com offers that opportunity.

There are a lot of paid blogging sites that offer bloggers the opportunity to make money through blog advertising. Advertisers know the advantage of getting exposure through blogs and offer to pay for bloggers to write about their opinions on various products and services. You need to be careful though when choosing to work with a paid blogging site. There are some out there that do not have good reputations.
One of my favourite paid blogging sites is Smorty. I believe it’s one of the better paid blogging sites. You have the choice to accept or decline any available offers so you don’t have to write about products and services that you don’t agree with. I’ve been blogging with them for about six months and I enjoy the variety of jobs that have offered to me. Having the opportunity to write abut different products and services introduces me to sites I would otherwise not have come across. Payments are made weekly into your paypal account.
If you’re interested in blogging for money, check out Smorty. I recommend it!
A Night Owl

It is after midnight and I’m not tired at all. It is quite unusual for me because I’m practically ready to hit the pillow soon after the babes go to bed. DH is away at camp with DD11 so I thought I’d do a little experiment.
As some of you know, I do paid blogging on a couple of my blogs and I feel as though sometimes I’m a little disadvantaged because I live in Australia. A lot of the opportunities are released during US daytime (which means I’m sleeping!) So I’m staying up later tonight to see what may be available to me in the way of opps.
But if it’s nothing different, then I will stand corrected! ![]()
