Phone got flushed!
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
My cell phone fell into the toilet! I usually keep my cell phone in my bra if I don’t have any pockets. I was getting changed in the bathroom and I forgot the phone was there and it sorta went for a swim. Luckily I’m very particular about having a clean toilet! But I still find it too gross!
I noticed that Big W have some cell phones on sale this week so I might go and have a look and see if I can find one that I like. I don’t want to spend too much on one because of situations exactly like this…LOL
In my inbox: Jack and Jill

Jack was about to marry Jill and his father took him to one side.
‘When I married your mother, the first thing I did when we got home was take
off my trousers,’ he said.
‘I gave them to your mother and told her to put them on. When she did, they
were enormous on her and she said to me that she couldn’t possibly wear
them, as they were too large.’
‘I told her:’ ‘Of course they’re too big. I wear the trousers in this family
and I always will!’
Ever since that day, we have never had a single problem.
Jack took his father’s advice and as soon as he got Jill alone after the
wedding, he did the same thing - took off his trousers, gave them to Jill
and told her to put them on.
Jill said that the trousers were too big and she couldn’t possibly wear
them.
‘Exactly’ replied Jack.’I wear the trousers in this relationship and I
always will. I don’t want you to forget that’.
Jill paused and removed her knickers and gave them to Jack. ‘Try these on’
she said, so he tried them on but they were too small.
‘I can’t possibly get into your knickers’ said Jack.
‘Exactly’ replied Jill.’And if you don’t change your f**king attitude, you
never will.’
Where’s my coffee table?

What do you keep on your coffee table?
I’ve been looking at home and garden magazines lately and I’ve seen pictures of beautiful houses (that apparently have children living in them as well!) and in the pictures of the living rooms, the coffee tables are absolutely clutter free and might just have a coffee table book and a vase of fresh flowers.
Is this possible? Not in my home! I don’t even know what the top of my coffee table looks like under all the crap that sits on it all the time!
It pays to pay attention

I got busted big time!
I was on the phone chatting with a friend and I have to admit, I was only half listening because she was raving on (yes, you WERE raving on!) and I clicked back into the conversation when I heard her say that she was taking Alli somewhere. I asked her where they were going and that’s when I realised that she was talking about taking something to aid her in her weightloss and she wasn’t talking about our mutual friend.
Oops!
Doing things for me!
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Some days I wake up and feel daggy, frumpy or any other adjective that describes feeling less than attractive. So I was thinking that I should make the time EVERY DAY to do something for myself that will make me feel better about myself - just little things that won’t take too much time and I can fit into my day.
So, I will take the time each day to:
- fix my hair and put my face on (most days I just pull my hair back into a pony tail and I don’t usually bother putting makeup on if I’m not going anywhere. I find it makes me feel better even just putting on a bit of eyeliner and lip gloss)
- get up a little earlier and enjoy a cup of flavoured tea (I sometimes don’t have my first cup of tea for the day until lunch time so getting up a little earlier will give me some time to do that before the tribe wake up)
- remember to take my ‘happy pill’ and vitamins (some days I get so busy that I forget to take my medication and I find that my mood changes and I start becoming that scary, screaming ogre that I don’t like so I need to make sure I take my medication first thing in the morning, maybe with my early morning cup of tea)
So that’s a start! What little things do you do for yourself each day?
Daydreaming

It’s not often that I have a chance to just sit and daydream but when I do, I like to imagine what my perfect house would look like. One thing that I would absolutely LOVE in my perfect home would be a room just for a home theatre!
There’s nothing like watching movies on a big screen while sitting in luxurious chairs that can recline to your liking. I think I’d even add a popcorn machine and I’ve seen some nice home theater sconces that would finish off the room perfectly.
Hmm, maybe I can turn one of the kids’ bedrooms into a home theatre after they all grow up and move out!
Women and their cars?!

I know a young girl who owns a really flash car. She spends a good majority of her wages on it, getting it ready for car shows. She’s so proud of it - it’s like her baby! I saw her the other day in my favourite cafe looking at spoilers in a car magazine. Apparently she saw a car similar to hers that had a spoiler different to the one she already has on the car and the people who work on her car suggested that she should get it changed. I don’t know if they’re just trying to get more money out of her or what?!
I wanted to be a pink lady!

I was reading “Movies You Watched Over and Over” by Alycats this afternoon. I think Alycats is younger than me so we don’t have many of those movies in common but I do enjoy watching Muriel’s Wedding.
Some of my favourite movies that I used to watch over and over as a teenager (and even now as an adult) are:
- E.T
- Grease I and II
- Dirty Dancing
- Desperately Seeking Susan
- Nightmare on Elm Street (all of them)
- The Breakfast Club
- Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
- Flowers In The Attic
- Pretty In Pink
Oh My! I could go on!
I still have some of these on VHS. I think I’ll see if I can get some of my more favourite ones on dvd.
What were your favourite movies as a teenager?
Grown-up glasses

What has happened??!!
Pre-children, I owned gorgeous wine glasses, tumblers and champagne flutes (and used them regularly) but now it’s Dora sippy cups and plastic tumblers!
I really need to buy some nice glasses again, maybe Riedel ones for the rare times that I entertain adults, and not grubby little kiddies! LOL
Driver’s knowledge test

If you had to do your driver’s knowledge test again, would you pass?
I was reading through the latest road rules book, and I noticed that I “occasionally” do things that are not legal! Even though I thought that I was obeying the rules! Either I’ve been doing things wrong right from the start or they have changed the rules in the time that I have had my license.
With a child who is now a learner driver, I fell compelled to make sure I’m obeying the law all the time, especially when he’s in the car because he pulls me up for the errors I make!
