So, what are you waiting for?
I’ve been on and off the weight loss wagon too many times to count.
When I’m motivated, I go really well. Just before I fell pregnant with the baby, I lost 20 kgs. But when I’m not in the "I going to lose this weight" mode, it’s almost as if I gain weight even without eating!
So what is stopping me?
I’ve used the "I’m too busy", "I’ve got no money to go to the gym", "I don’t have the support", and "I’m too stressed out" cards too many times and it really is time to get off my lazy back side and lose this extra burden I’ve been carrying.
But why am I waiting until next week to start?
It may be just one more excuse to people reading this but this coming week is going to be VERY stressful (personal family matters that won’t be discussed on any of my blogs) so I will be starting my weight loss challenge on Wednesday, Sept 10. Oh, and in case you are wondering why on a Wednesday and not at the beginning of the week…..our pay day is Wednesdays so I can go grocery shopping and have a fridge full of healthy food to help me along.
I’m planning on posting my goals, photos and food diary along the way. I’ll weigh in each Wednesday and post my (hopefully) losses each week.
Need to lose some weight as well? Wanna join me? Comment here to let me know that you will be starting your own challenge so I can come by your blog and cheer you on

You know the "advertisement thing" where they only apply the product to one side of the woman’s face so their partner can try and guess which is "the side"? I kinda do that to my husband each time I try a new product.
Launched on the market only eight months ago, Homepeel has released a new range of salon quality skin peel treatments that can be used in the home at a fraction of the cost.
So it was no different when the courier delivered the parcel from Homepeel. I dropped what I was doing and took my Flakey Skin Remover into the bathroom to try it.
The first thing I noticed is that it was not strongly fragranced. That’s a thumbs up from me because I don’t like heavily perfumed skin products. I wet my face, scooped out the recommended amount and went to work on my face.
I wanted to develop a product that would be effective and not damage the skin.
Most exfoliates on the market use large abrasives and because skin cells are small, you are producing a negative effect by digging into the skin cells. "Flakey Skin Remover" uses the the same abrasive that is used in Microdermabrasion called Corundum Crystal which is extremely fine.
Flawless skin is not just for the rich and famous.
I’ve used many different brands of exfoliates before but the Flakey Skin Remover felt different. It was almost like I KNEW it was doing what it was meant to be doing (IYKWIM). As soon as I rinsed my face, my skin felt smoother and looked clearer. Hubby was obediently waiting for the "feel test" and remarked that my face "didn’t look so pitted looked clearer". Lucky I know how to interpret my husband’s words!
I love it! I’m not easily sold but this product has made a noticeable difference. My foundation seems to look more natural and my baby, who usually likes to rub her face and her hands on my face has been doing it more often so I think it’s a thumbs up from her too

Have I told you about Loulou?
Filed Under random | 1 Comment
Loulou is my dog that I don’t own yet. I have never seen Loulou but I know that she is a tiny, fluffy, black Pomeranian. I’m not sure when Loulou will be joining the mummified household but it will probably be when the mummified kids are starting to move out because I don’t think this house can handle an inside doggie diva LOL
I’ve already been checking out pet beds and collars and everything that a spoiled-rotten doggie diva needs, including a Paris Hilton-inspired doggie handbag!
The husband isn’t too keen about Loulou joining us, even though it’s not going to be for a few years! So I figure I have enough time to work on him…LOL

Mark Priestly, who played Dan Goldman in All Saints was found dead in Sydney. It’s believed that he killed himself by jumping off a building in the Sydney CBD.
It is so sad! My heart goes out to his family and friends at this terrible time.
R.I.P Mark priestly.
Eating my emotions

I eat my emotions.
When I’m bored, I eat. When I’m angry, I eat. When I’m depressed, I eat. I don’t think I’m a naturally motivated person. I really need to psych myself up to do certain things that I don’t want to do. I have to remind myself what will happen if I don’t do it, and what will happen if I do.
It’s a pity I’m not one of those women that go beserk and clean or fix everything in their path. If I was THAT kind of woman, I would be thin, my house would be spotless and the door hardware wouldn’t be falling off in the hallway right now!
How do you deal with your emotions?
Warm me up!

It would be so nice if the auto air conditioning actually warmed up the car when we first get in it instead of just starting to heat up as I’m pulling back into our driveway after the trip!
I had to dash down to the supermarket last night because we were almost out of milk. It was cold and raining so I quickly jumped in the car, turned it on, turned the air conditioning on, trying to keep warm. The silly thing takes so long to start blowing warm air!
Silly car!
Wanna live in a warehouse
Filed Under random | 2 Comments
I’ve always had this thing for warehouses done up as homes. I would love to rent or buy a warehouse and renovate it in "our style". I often check out the local commercial real estate to see what is available and whether permission would be granted to turn into a residence.

I don’t know how the kids would handle living in a place that is all open with no walls inside, but I know that I would love the open space. No more feeling claustrophobic between four walls.
Could you live in a warehouse?
Neither Bold nor Beautiful
Filed Under entertainment, random | Leave a Comment
It’s not often that I sit and watch a whole tv show but the one show that I do try to make time for is The Bold and Beautiful. Laugh if you like, but it does happen to be my favourite soapie and when 4.30pm comes round on weekdays, you can usually hear one of the kids calling out, "Mum, your show’s coming on!" LOL
It’s almost become an unspoken rule that when B&B is on, mama is not to be disturbed which is fine by me…lol
I would love to find out how I can wake up with my hair all perfect and my makeup still on my face and not on my pillow! I also want to know what kind of air tools the soapie actors use to blow away their wrinkles and crows feet!
Although I can do without the who is sleeping with who now, and who’s trying to kill who…..but then again, the who’s trying to kill who could be referred to my extended family!
Ah, who needs the soapies when the dramas in your own family make better story lines!
Hairy ice cream, anyone?

When I’m not looking for a hair elastic, you can be sure that there will be hundreds lots very visible, like hanging on the door handles of the bedroom doors or over the bathroom faucets or just "put away" on the floor.
But when I need one desperately because my hair keeps getting in my bowl of ice cream (oops, wasn’t going to reveal why I needed one), do you think I can find one?!
Seriously, I need to buy a safe or something! LOL
Someone’s in trouble!

Lazy Town is an educational program that teaches kids to
I could have blogged on my "mommy blog" about how Lazy Town teaches kids about healthy eating and being active and while that is true, I’m more interested in..ummm….getting my daily piece of eye candy each morning…LOL
Have you SEEN Sportacus?! I’m trying to type this while Lazy Town is still on the tv and I keep getting distracted. Someone pass the tissues. I think I just drooled on my laptop.
I mentioned on twitter if it was weird that I had a crush on Sporticus only to find that there are other dirty moms out there who make their kids sit and watch the show so they can get their perve the kids can learn about healthy eat……..oh, who are you trying to kid?? ;P
What does one do when one has a (now) not so secret crush? One googles the "crushee" and learns that Sporticus is also known as Magnus Scheving.
I wanted to make this post informative but I’m having trouble being articulate with these pictures in my face…lol
Sailor Mur wrote a post that explains exactly how I feel about this important topic….lol
Wonder how long I can convince the baby to watch Lazy Town?
« go back — keep looking »
